Among all the mysteries hidden within Dreambound, few are as haunting as the little girl who waits every night at the station in Eidolon.
Nobody knows when she first appeared. Nobody remembers seeing her arrive. Yet, every night, she stands beside the clock that forever marks 3:17, carrying the same suitcase and silently watching the trains come and go, as though she has been waiting for something—or someone—for longer than anyone can remember.
To some, she is simply another soul wandering through Eidolon. Others believe she is far more than that. Some whisper that she is waiting for someone who made a promise but never returned. Others believe she waits for everyone, because every journey through Eidolon begins, in one way or another, at the station.
She never speaks. She never asks questions. She simply watches. There is a quiet certainty in her presence, as though she understands the dreams of others better than they understand themselves. Those who notice her often leave with the strange feeling that she already knew they would come.
Like so much within Eidolon, her true identity remains a mystery. Is she a traveller who never reached her destination? A guardian of forgotten memories? Or is she something far older than the city itself?
Readers of Dreambound will soon discover that not every mystery is meant to be solved immediately. Some are meant to wait, patiently, until the right moment arrives.
The girl at the station is one of them.
Because in Eidolon, every journey begins somewhere.
Sometimes, it begins at 3:17.
